For want of any dharma activity at this slow time of year (tonight's Suzuki Roshi Memorial notwithstanding), a few more pictures of the Wind Caves, contrasting the snowy day with other times; in the latter case, a post-fire view.

Good contrast - you can just about compare these two pairs branch for branch. They do say fire is good for nature in the long run - not so good if you're in the middle of it at the time.
The ecology round Tassajara is designed to burn and re-grow - the Forest Service came down with a historical map, and every section of the wilderness had burned at least once in the last hundred years - and obviously for millennia before that when there was no-one to keep score.
Those contrast photos spoke loudly -- thank you
