Ruth, I am assuming you are not referring to the shabby decking and peeling paint, but more to the vistas.<br />Sandy, the function of the moon in the ceremony is mainly for calendaring purposes - the ceremony dates back to the earliest days of Buddhism, when the wandering forest monks agreed to reconvene every full moon and new moon to renew their vows, which is why more hardline inos than myself always call it the Bodhisattva Precept Ceremony on the Full Moon. But we are big on appreciation and awareness, and you can spend happy hours reading all about moon imagery in Buddhist writings.Shundohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08626305350101368912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2420869610239298943.post-52097870751183201152011-06-19T15:51:01.829-07:002011-06-19T15:51:01.829-07:00And a stunning rooftop it is too.And a stunning rooftop it is too.Ruthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07489314449852982713noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2420869610239298943.post-31468298796286114892011-06-17T10:56:40.802-07:002011-06-17T10:56:40.802-07:00Wow, that's so cool that you had the ceremony ...Wow, that's so cool that you had the ceremony on the roof top. I suspect with yourselves, and I like to think with the modern druids, that it is certainly not a worship of the moon, and nor even a giving thanks for it (for who is to thank for the laws of nature?) but an appreciation, or an awareness, of the moon.Sandy's witteringshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05009803939431014995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2420869610239298943.post-63658310337971411772011-06-16T21:02:36.128-07:002011-06-16T21:02:36.128-07:00great idea full moon ceremony where you can see th...great idea full moon ceremony where you can see the moon, cool!Lisa KHhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09662554283218573450noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2420869610239298943.post-76885033457182981882011-06-16T09:56:14.240-07:002011-06-16T09:56:14.240-07:00Great shots Shundo...
